Without a fight

9 November, 2023

If you’re not Antipodean you may not be aware of the phenomenon that is the Melbourne Cup – an annual horse race which sees Australians dusting off fancy hats, betting with everyone in the office, hosting parties and drinking copious amounts of bubbles on a Tuesday avo.

Yesterday’s winner was a gelding from Ireland called Without a Fight. He wasn’t the favourite but he won anyway.

I love that.

Because success doesn’t need to be about fighting your way to the top, even if it can seem that way sometimes.

In fact, sometimes that approach can hinder you.

There is often an easier way to achieve massive results.

Consider:

Photographing/ filming in the way that comes easily to you rather than trying to be someone you’re not. I wrote about this a while back here
Tweaking your website language to work better for your audience, rather than a full website rebuild. (Do you have to start from scratch?)
Sharing work you’ve already made but not previously shared. (What’s in your archive?)
Following up with amazing clients you’ve already worked with or who’ve enquired about you rather than tackling total strangers. (When did you last contact those people?)
Focusing on very few ideal clients rather than 100 ‘maybe’s’.
I could go on forever.

As Confucius said: “Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated”

What’s easy for you to achieve this week?
