Today as we celebrate International Women’s Day, I want to shout out to all you fricken-amazing-rockstar-kick-
It’s hard enough in general to be a lens-based image maker but holy moly, the hurdles that women have faced over the years need no explanation.
One of those hurdles has always been the juggle of motherhood and career.
So today I wanted to share a gorgeous personal project about working mothers by Los Angeles based photographer and mother Noel Besuzzi, who says:
“In this project, I wanted to highlight the women who enthusiastically embrace motherhood as well as their work. These women, who face innumerable hurdles, decided that they had something to contribute to the world.”
Photographing mothers and children doesn’t have to be reserved for framed pics in the hallway. Any brand needing lifestyle imagery is looking for ways to show families and I love the classy way Noel has photographed this series whilst still showing the bond between mothers and their children.
You can see the full project here
If you’re a working mother AND a photographer I hope this project inspires you to not only keep doing what you do, but to trust that you can inspire clients with work you genuinely love making.
Happy International Women’s day, and incidentally, happy Mothering Sunday to you Northern Hemisphere mothers. May you receive an abundance of love and chocolate!
