Things are never what they seem

9 September, 2019

If you’re an advertising photographer you’d know that agencies sometimes hire fashion photographers to shoot car ads, and sports photographers to shoot global bank campaigns, and animal photographers to promote high tech products. The list goes on.

But did you know that online app Pinterest has hired photographers who’ve shot analogue on their campaigns?

That Apple’s marketing department refuse to view digital folios and will only view printed folios? APPLE for goodness sake!!!

Ask any photo rep and you’ll find that things are not as black and white, or digital, or OBVIOUS as they seem.

If you are making assumptions about who your clients are and what they want, based on preconceived notions about them, or the genre of your photography, you could be making a colossally expensive mistake.

And this will be translating to your online presence that the world could be looking at.

Oh the awesome work you’re missing out on!

But how are you supposed to know?

It starts with knowing yourself.

Know the magic that your work contains. Know the feeling that viewers experience. Understanding this will help you understand the clients that will hire you. And it won’t always be who you expected.

If you want some help with this, you can book a free strategy call with me here.

I’ll give you the steps to understand who you are, and to find the clients that you should be targeting, so you can move forward knowing who THEY really are, and what they really want.
