How much are you using AI in your workflow?
It’s probably (like it or not) built into the apps you use. Maybe you’re also using it to speed up admin and processes, improve your copywriting, plan content, create mood boards and treatments, retouch or even generate images.
I am working with plenty of photographers who are actively embracing all of these, and some who want absolutely nothing to do with it, thank you very much. (Analogue has its place for sure.)
But there’s another aspect of AI worth paying attention to: what it might say about you to other people.
If you haven’t already, try prompting Claude, ChatGPT or Perplexity with this:
“Search the internet and tell me what you can find about [your name] as a commercial photographer. What am I known for, and what do other people say about my work?”
Then look at the answer.
Is it accurate?
Is it distinctive?
Does it sound like you?
And most importantly, what’s missing?
Because this isn’t really about AI.
It’s about knowing your brand.
When you know your brand, you know what makes you and your work recognisable. And when that’s clear, it becomes much easier for other people, and increasingly AI, to recognise it too.
