IMPORTANT VIP INFO AND TIMES

NEXT UPCOMING SESSION:

This month’s topic will be YOUR SECRET RECIPE

Every photographer has a different approach to how they work, and being clear about this when you estimate jobs, develop personal projects, and even in your marketing, is actually a vital part of your brand.

Not all those techniques are obvious to viewers, so in this session I want to help you identify this ‘secret recipe’, and pull together the ingredients which, when wrapped up with your visual voice and ‘why’, make you unique.

As always this is NOT about your kit. It’s about the human behind the work, and it could be one of the biggest selling points you’re overlooking.

FEBRUARY

This month’s topic will be planning your EMAIL CONTENT.

If you’re diligent with your marketing, you know the power of regular Email blasts to people who already know who you are. Photographers who send these regularly report an upswing in engagement from their clients, and even briefs as a result of them.

But if you’re like most photographers, you probably really struggle with content ideas and consistency. Every month I get messages from VIP’s asking me to look at their Email tests, and often there is too much content in one Email, way too many pics, or language that is too salesy or patronising. So I think there is absolute need for more of my support with this.

On that basis, I’m going to run a session every 3 months to help you create your next 3 months of Emails. I’ll give you ideas to share, and we’ll start building some good habits so that your content is engaging, shows who you are, and drives people to investigate your website or projects more. I will look at 1-3 tests too, so get those Emails ready for me and let’s do this!

MARCH

This month’s topic is CONFIDENCE.

It comes up all the time. And it’s not always your lack of confidence, but how comfortably you convey it, and also the confidence your clients have in you, all which can have a huge effect on you getting a job or not.

Every step of your marketing, sales and managing jobs must ooze confidence and I get that this can be really overwhelming when you don’t feel like ‘that’ person.

So let’s work through this and hopefully you’ll leave with the skills to deal with momentary lapses as well as a those bigger crises of confidence.

See you there!

APRIL

This month’s topic is PIPPED TO THE POST?

There’s nothing worse than making a project and then seeing the same idea published by someone else, and worse still, getting accolades, awards and attention.

When you already made yours first it’s like a stab in the back.

I’ve watched this happen to a few photographers recently, and in the past, and it’s hard to come to terms with the sense of rejection, self doubt and sheer frustration that you’ve ‘missed the boat’. But there are ways to flip this narrative and even make it work for you.

In this session I’ll show you how to flip the script if it happens to you, and how to avoid this situation and be the first to launch your project into the world.

MAY

This month’s topic will be planning your EMAIL CONTENT.

If you’re diligent with your marketing, you know the power of regular Email blasts to people who already know who you are. Photographers who send these regularly report an upswing in engagement from their clients, and even briefs as a result of them.

Because of that, every 3 months we’re workshopping together to create your next 90 days of Email topics. I’ll give you ideas to share, and we’ll start building some good habits so that your content is engaging, shows who you are, and drives people to investigate your website or projects more. I will look at 1-3 tests too, so get those Emails ready for me and let’s do this!

JULY

This month’s topic will be LESSONS FROM CHIANG MAI.

How’s your personal work coming along? Having now watched and helped birth hundreds of personal projects, both via The Series Project and Bootcamp, I wanted to continue with my annual Q&A bringing you lessons from the most recent Series Project workshop.

Chiang Mai in June was another eye opening experience replete with project curve balls and incredible stories. I think it’s wonderful to be able to give you an insider’s peek into some of the things that helped these projects come to fruition, and what held some of them back (though not for long!).

The 7 projects made in Chiang Mai are briliant examples of photographers pushing though personal and cultural blocks and achieving lovely results. They’re being presented the day after this Q&A so it felt timely to bring you some important reminders of what you might consider when making your own projects.

SEPTEMBER

Our greatest competition or our new best friend? Or both? The role of AI in photographers’ lives is confusing, exciting, overwhelming and scary.

In January, Tom Barnes, UK photographer, Exposed negative podcast host, AI geek and founder of Mainframed touched on this topic and we all decided it should have its own dedicated Q&A session.

We’ll cover the potential and pitfalls of AI, the latest news from the front, and why you shouldn’t lose sleep over it. This session is earlier than usual because Tom is in UK, so pop it in the calendar, get your questions ready and set your alarm!
